Crossroads Hometown Festival Strikes a New Chord With Headliner Sundance Head
The Crossroads Hometown Festival has been getting the toes of Robertson County residents tapping for years. The annual music festival has been through bad weather, COVID and more, but it always comes out swinging with great music, food and vendors every year. This year, the organizers wanted to focus on one type of music and were able to snag one of Texas Music's newest stars, Sundance Head, to headline their annual festival.
The team has put together a full day of fun for the whole family to enjoy that is free to attend. Mark your calendars for this Saturday, June 7 for the annual event that will transform downtown Hearne with great kid's activities, arts and craft vendors, and of course, live music.
The fun begins at 10:00 am with kid's activities and vendors, who will be on hand with lots of great finds. So much good food and snacks will be available, from snow cones and ice cream to BBQ and Burgers galore. Many of the new downtown businesses will be open for folks to come and enjoy, as well, so come prepared to shop till you drop.
The music begins at 5:00 pm, with a line-up of Texas Country Music that will keep folks dancing until into the night.
Charlie McCabe made a name for himself in the Aggieland Country Music Scene, despite being born in Chicago. McCabe came to Aggieland by way of Houston, and has become a regular in Northgate and at the Tap in College Station. His local following loves his country rock style, and they are excited to watch him take the big stage at Crossroads. Crossroads organizers love his style and his single, "Locomotive" will surely be a big hit in Hearne.
J.T. Reserve, a newer band from South East Texas that has been blowing up the Texas Music Scene. Their bluesy style of east Texas Country compels the listener to two-step and boot scoot around Fourth Street. Join them for a fun time on stage as they let their Beaumont roots show as they sing about "A Place Called Texas."
Sundance Head is the son of the music legend, Roy Head, of The Traits. Head was a contestant on both American Idol Season 6 and The Voice Season 11, the latter of which launched a career of touring and albums. Sundance Head's music style fit his mentor on the Voice, Blake Shelton's as they both have rich voices that tell compelling stories. Head will be playing into the Texas night until "Daylights Gone."
The Hearne Chamber of Commerce wants to see big crowds this Saturday, soaking up the sights and enjoying Downtown Hearne's annual festival of Texas Music and Culture.
